Deborah Bazzano is a wine professional and enthusiast. Raised in an Italian family, enjoying food and wine has been a part of her upbringing. Family vacations were spent in Italy where time was passed preparing meals made with fresh ingredients while sipping local wines that complimented the cuisine. They did not consider food and wine as something extraordinary, it was simply a part of life. After 15 years of working in the wine industry Deborah has transitioned into an Independent Consultant focusing on private events, education and supporting in the trade as a brand ambassador. She has organized all types of events and can work with you to customize a tasting in your home or event space. Deborah is passionate about wine and her goal is to instill others with the appreciation for wine in a comfortable setting.
About Deborah
For over 15 years Deborah has dedicated herself to studying wine, exploring wine regions around the world and working in all facets of the business. She has worked at wineries in Chile and South Africa, where she performed a wide range of tasks in viticulture and production. Thereafter Deborah worked in management roles in retail, distribution and importing in the tri-state area including New York City where she represented a number of prestigious brands. Over the years she has had the privilege of visiting many producers around the globe in North/South America, Europe, Africa and Australia.

Deborah holds a degree from the University of Connecticut in Communications/PR with a focus on Italian Cultural Studies and is fluent in Italian and Portuguese. She has lived abroad in Italy and has consulted with many European wineries providing insight and sales strategies for the US wine market. Additionally, she has earned the Advanced Certificate with Distinction and Wine Diploma from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust and is certified as a Spanish Wine and Sherry Specialist by the Wine Academy of Spain.

Deborah has held a variety of positions in the wine industry from restaurant/retail to distribution and importing. She has experience hiring and training a sales force, managing distributors and working in New York City representing top producers from around the world. Deborah has earned the Advanced Certificate with Distinction and Wine Diploma from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust and she is certified as a Spanish Wine and Sherry Specialist by the Wine Academy of Spain. Additionally she has worked at wineries in Chile and South Africa, visited numerous wine regions around the globe and is fluent in both Italian and Portuguese. With her experience, she is able to provide support as an educator, ambassador and consultant.
